recent updates
the magic of USS
Friday 27 May 2016

In case you haven't already known, I have been pretty occupied lately...

...With trips to Universal Studios Singapore. (lol)

Well, it is supposed to be the Disneyland of Singapore, isn't it? Where the magic happens? After being there numerous times, I can testify: yes, it's as magical as you envision it to be.

To start off, I finally sat BattleStar Galactica Human and Cylon, and can proudly say that I have sat on all the rides before! I used to be the world's biggest wimp, and get really really afraid of Viking Ships and Rollercoasters. Downtown East's Escape Theme Park used to use this tiny Viking Ship, and OHMYGOD I could only survive sitting in the middle row, where the height is practically the lowest of the lot. I can never imagine how some people manage to sit all the way at the tip and even raise their hands when it's descending (?!?!?!) - frankly, I probably would have passed out. So never in my entire life would I expect myself to conquer Human, what more Cylon! Cylon was, honestly, the bane of my existence as it has something that I was most afraid of - 360 turns and corkscrews. Those scared me to death because I could, very frankly, fall out any moment and bash my skull onto the sidewalk. Imagine my face when Xinyi literally dragged me along with her to sit the Devil's Ride! Not going to lie, but I prayed fervently four times while queuing for it and almost begged her to let me do the walk of shame and exit the queue. *looks down in shame* We even had a short scuffle at the locker rental because of how timid I was to sit Cylon. You know when you want to rent the locker, there are a few steps and a few buttons to press: like whether you are renting a locker or reopening a locker? Well at that point in time I was fine sitting Human and would love to sit Human again, but at the second step when we were supposed to choose "Human" or "Cylon" - you guessed it - Xinyi's hand shot out and pressed Cylon furiously while I gawked at her - like, are you insane????? Then I recovered from that initial shock and pressed "exit" at the corner while she stood there, fuming (lol). Wash, rinse and repeat a few more times (more like, 6 times) before I finally gave in to her with my heart beating like bongo drums (hahahahahhahahaa primary school writing). So yes. No surprise there. And what made it worse? The atmosphere of that blasted ride was killing me. It had the weirdest walls ever (think: human flesh and tubes coming out and going in) and the strange, strange music. *shudders* It also had 2 figures of the Cylons which were really creepy and I wanted nothing to do with the ride. All I wanted was to get out of it and sit by one of the mobile stalls popping bubbles the staff were blowing. To cut the story short, yeah, I sat on it. And screamed (surprisingly) little! The one part where I could almost swear I screamt my lungs out was the corkscrew part  - I squeezed my eyes sooooo tight because I didn't want to know how it would look like when I was falling to my death. But of course I survived - if not how could I be writing this? And well, that became one of my favourite rides (lol).

Next, because of USS, I manage to go out with a lot more of my friends and I love that we get to experience many things together - especially when it is particularly thrilling. You know when you experience an adrenaline rush with someone, you tend to feel closer with that person? Yeah, I think the rollercoasters played a part! It was really really fun to belt out "I Knew You Were Trouble" while the rollercoaster was plunging to its death, and posing in funny and awkward gestures while taking the Mummy Ride, popping bubbles wherever we went and talking about anything under the sun while queuing for the ride. I was able to see the other side of my friends which I can't see in school and I love it.

Okay because my laptop's going to die soon and I'm really lazy to charge it, I'm going to end this post abruptly. Whoops. Hit me up if you wanna go to USS together!!! :-)
