NTU FOC 16/17
Sunday 7 August 2016

It was bomb.

In light of the recent controversial events, I'm sure many were wondering about nbs' foc - I'd say your worries are not needed because it was very clean, and very fun. We didn't have Secret Partner/ Special Pal/ whatever those are called, and not even a Night Walk / Fright Night! There weren't any like gender-compromising games either which I'm sure An is soooo glad for (lol).

DAY 1
We were getting to know each other more! I was familiar with most of the OG mates, but some one them didn't turn up for day 0/ precamp meet ups so it was time to know more people and the seniors. Oh, and some fake freshies revealed themselves again. LOL. All of us were paired randomly after placing our pieces of luggage and we headed to have lunch / play some games. All of us were like crazy playing the Nippon game and I got severely bullied by the two guys standing beside me LOL they kept pushing the baton to me D: But it was fun la hahahaha :P We played soapy and muddy games in the afternoon and it was a blastttttt. In the night, we had something called Save The Legacy which isn't really worth talking about bc it was very group-segregated and until now I still don't know what the other sub-groups of Nero did. BUTTTTT after STL we had NIGHT RUN! It was essentially Running Man around the NBS campus with seniors wearing bells and chasing pairs all over the place, while us players had to run around finding stations to complete missions. I'd say watching RM paid off? HAHA I utilised every single stairwell as best as I could so we only got caught once (and we got let off after saying a cheer :P). My partner and I did pretty damn well! We completed ~5 stations in like 2 hours ish which is commendable, considering that you have to queue up for the stations and only the first 6 pairs are safe.

DAY 2
POOL DAY! There was a confidence jump of 5m and a ton of pool games after but I didn't participate :( My eyes did the whole swelling-majig thing so I had to sit out. The sun was being merciless so all of us were desperately trying to find shade or stand on grass! If you know me well enough, you should be aware that I HATE standing on grass barefooted because of all the creepy crawlies / insects / whatever that's hidden amongst those green leaves but I just threw all of my worries away because I did not want my feet to be burnt. I can't remember much about day 2 because it all went by really quickly! We had some amazing race thing where we played captains ball on those swivel chairs so it was all good fun! Enjoyed that game so much hahaha. We had a HTHT at night so we all slept reallyyy late :P

DAY 3
BEACH DAY!!!! Fun fun fun fun fun. We had so many games to play and stations to complete and it was just really really fun. The weather that day was amazing as well - just cloudy, because it partially rained in the morning and the sun wasn't out in our faces until we left! I suck at playing games though, so I didn't exactly carry our team that much - but I tried so I guess the effort counts. During the telematch, we had to run across the beach several times I thought my legs were going to break because my partner was running superrrr fast and I was like lagging behind HAHA but it super memorable! We headed out to a chalet after that and had a roast and played some stupid games (How many meh meh jumped over the wall, BACK TO THE FUTURE, black magic, etc). I had a tough time deciphering back to the future lol I felt so dumb but all's well because I understood it after 20 minutes of asking my friends to do it repeatedly. I had my fair share of barbeque-ing the chicken wings and I did a shit job because they were either undercooked or just plain chao-tah... But I made up for it by pouring drinks for everyone and socialising to my fullest :P After our shower we headed to our respective rooms to think of our performance and practise. It felt like our dance practices all over again, since we had to really choreograph / clean up steps / do whatever and I was feeling really really tired then :( My period also made an appearance (lol tmi) so I guess my pms was in full swing that night and I was very snappy so I apologise :( It was around 2am then and I was just worn out and shag af but we had A LAST ACTIVITY: NIGHT WALK. I was expecting it to be all cchms-style like walking around the house, having to do this and that blah blah blah but it was all a joke :P We just had to enter this room which the seniors acting very stupid pretending to be monks and dogs and we had to recite something (for our initiation). It was all shits and giggles and gags so all was well HAHA I was so paranoid in the room bc I'm just a full-blown scaredy cat but I'm glad that I went with Mavis and another guy! They were all pretty calm instead of jumpy so it helped to soothe my nerves. When we got out of the room totally unscathed, our seniors just made us scream on the count of 3 to scare all those who were still in the waiting room lol. After we were done, we were just sitting in another room and two guys were all dressed up with towels and flashlights waiting to scare all those coming in to that room. Needless to say, it was all hilarious and we had little to no sleep that night.

DAY 4
We travelled back and had a 2-3h talk where everyone was snoozing :P I can't remember much because I was just so tired and delirious. We had a water bomb match in the field where we had to bomb the CGLs of other clans and groups so it was pretty fun and entertaining to run around just throwing water bombs at them! I made a clean shot so wooohoooooooo! There was more walking so I was chatting with my partner and we were exchanging lame ass jokes that are seriously cringe-worthy but it was all good fun :D The day went by fast and soon it was perf time! All of the OGs were performing and it was all really ridiculous and entertaining and I enjoyed the time in the Audi :) Our OG's best freshie won best overall freshie after his singing performance which was littttt everyone else in the Audi was singing along with him so it was amaze-balls! Loved our cheering part in day 4 too because it was when everyone was finally really hyped up and excited and we were cheering so much that we all lost our voices :P After the performance, we had this high-five relay and this epic cheer battle between seniors and freshies! It was like a dance battle, just cheer-wise and it was BOMB. Loved it.

AFTERWORD
Really enjoyed this camp to the fullest and I would really like to thank our seniors who are truly the best! The welfare was amazing - we had drinks / snacks / bubble tea / whatnot all the time without running out and we were taken care of so well! Our CGL really checked up on us frequently including the rest of the GLs and SAs. All of them were super friendly and approachable :) #NAVINAIXNITRONERO
